Description

Spring-loaded wire soldering jig — the easiest way to hold two wires perfectly aligned while you solder them together. The two spring-loaded clamps grip the wires from both sides, leaving the joint exposed at the perfect angle for soldering with both hands free.

Perfect for electronics hobbyists, DIY repairs, RC enthusiasts, automotive repair, model building, and anyone tired of alligator clips that wobble mid-solder.

Why a dedicated wire jig?

Helping hands with alligator clips look great in product photos, but they have one big problem when soldering wires: the clips wobble. Wires twist out of alignment, the joint moves while the solder cools, and you end up with a cold solder joint or a mess. This jig holds wires rigidly in place from both sides, with spring tension keeping them in perfect alignment until the solder hardens. Result: clean, strong solder joints every time.

Features

  • Spring-loaded clamps — grip wires firmly without crushing
  • Perfectly aligned soldering — wires meet at the right angle, every time
  • Open center — full access to the joint with iron and solder
  • Stable wide base — doesn't slide during work
  • Side cable channels — guides wires neatly into the clamps
  • Compact desk footprint — fits any electronics workshop
  • Lightweight and portable — bring it to the workbench, garage, or RC pit
  • Heat-resistant material — PETG handles incidental heat from soldering

FAQ

Which wire sizes can it hold?
The spring clamps work well with most standard wire types from approx. 14 AWG (thick speaker/auto wire) down to approx. 26 AWG (thin signal wire). Very thick wires (10 AWG and up) may not fit, and very thin wires (28+ AWG) may need a small support to stay centered.

Will it hold wires for heat shrink?
The wires need to be released after soldering to slide heat shrink over the joint. Slip the heat shrink on before clamping the wires.

Does it scratch the wire insulation?
The clamps grip the insulation gently — no damage in normal use. For thin or fragile insulation, you can wrap a small piece of tape around the gripping area for extra protection.

Is it stable on the workbench?
Yes — the wide base keeps it steady during normal soldering. When working with thicker wires or applying significant force, place it on a non-slip mat or weigh it down.

Can I use it with a heat gun?
Direct exposure to a heat gun can deform the plastic. Only use the jig for soldering — remove the wires before applying heat shrink with a heat gun.
